The new sound engine does NOT use p3d for sounds.
The sound module application is playing them.

ANd the sounds themselves should be in C:\A320FMGS\Sound\Sounds\ACFT sounds\CFM

okay. I tested it and it works for me
What does the tick for "Engines sound" and "Engines sound volume" do in the sound module?
If I switch this tick on or off while the simulator and the FMGS are running with all modules, I get the error message "Invalid Stop

The checkbox is to enable / disable playing engine sounds.
The slider is to adjust overal engine sounds volume (it is not per sound but for all sounds).

should it be possible to turn it on and off when P3d is running? Because this doesn't work for me and I get the error message "Invalid Stop"

Microsoft defender says there is a virus in the file. Can you send it as Sound.txt and I will rename it to Sound.exe

I made the first flight (with the Sound.exe from Fri Dec 06, 2024 4:06 pm). Here is my brief feedback:
- There is no sound during the ENG and APU firetest
- The background noises during taxiing/takeoff are too loud for me
- During takeoff the engine noises suddenly disappeared and did not occur for the entire flight (inside or outside)
- I then made a quick takeoff attempt and it worked

- The cavalry charge did not ring during ENG/tests? How long did you stay pushed on the test button?
- I will try to implement individual sound volume settings for engine sounds.
- engine sounds disappearing: did they come back by themselves on next takeoff or did you restart the software?

approx. 2 - 3 seconds. It was displayed correctly in ECAM
- I will try to implement individual sound volume settings for engine sounds.
Thanks
- engine sounds disappearing: did they come back by themselves on next takeoff or did you restart the software?
I restarted P3D

Hello JeanLuc
I tested the new sound module again. Here is my feedback:
- after starting P3D, a loud noise is heard, as if the plane was crashing onto the runway
- then a noise in an endless loop like that of a conveyor belt can be heard
- if I delete the contents of the folder ...\A320FMGS\Aircraft\A320\Sound, I have no engine sound
Otherwise, I think it's great when the engine sound also matches the engine speed.
Thank you very much for your efforts

Hi Jean Luc
Thank you for this update of the sound module. Very nice to be independent of the sim.
With the update to the sound.exe provided, it now works perfectly for me. Before I had no ENG sound.
What I realized after a first flight, REV sound is very loud compared to the ENG sound. Even IDLE REV.
I will continue to report and do not hesitate if you need something to be tested.
Best regards
Yves

I was able to download the Sound.exe and also have engine sound.
I have under ...\A320FMGS\Sound\Sounds\ACFT sounds\CFM\sound.cfg
[GROUND_ROLL]
the value
minimum_speed=5.00//0.00
entered and now the "conveyor belt" noise is gone when stationary

Here is my first feedback:
- the engine sound (in idle) gets slightly louder after about 15 seconds and then quieter again and starts again from the beginning
- I miss the sound when the landing gear is extended and retracted and when the flaps move in and out. Of course I don't know if these sounds are realistic, but they must be there for me
