Overhead Panel freezes

Hello

On a regulary base the Overhead Panel freezes. Mostly in combination with APU startup or Shutdown.

Hardware is FDS USB and Version is 61.4.2

Anybody experiencing this issue?

Hi Aron,

Do you have FMGS run on server PC ?
I also experience the Overhead freeze very randomly, before taxi out or after landing, taxin in.

Yes, I have the Server running on a seperate PC. Out of my experience with such faults, its most of the time a problem of me configuring things wrong. I was hoping somebody had similar troubles and a solution.

I had a similar problem with the Pedestal as well. The turning knob of the Engine Mode Selector is physically not blocked to be turned more to the right than to the Start position, and there are all around the knob positions where it snaps. Once I had somebody turning the knob too far, which caused the panel to freeze, as the position seemed to be picked up by the USB board and fed to Jeehell. Maybe this command without function crashes the panel.

I will check all the buttons of the OVHD if there are any without proper assignment. Also I will try to log the error when it happens.

By the way, if it happens is there a quick fix if it happens? I always have to reboot the whole system which takes 10 minutes...

Hi Aron,
Were all your flights which had OVHD crash using quick IRS alignment ?
I got recently 6 flights without OVHD crash using full time IRS alignment.
Let’s try and report again.

Hey masterp

Thanks for your guess. We normally do use the quick align function.

Today we did 4 very long sessions without using it and had no problem at all.

Maybe this really ist the cause.
