Fuel Xfer not working

Post by dkreiskott »

Hi JL,

a question, could it be that Fuel XFER is not implemented?
For me it has no effect on the fuel, even if the difference is over 1500 kg.

oh ok I misread and mis understood your post.
There is no XFER function on the A320, if you have an imbalance, the only way to solve it is to use fuel from heavier side (turning off lighter side pumps and pushing in X FEED button).
The lighter side will not get refilled.

What does not work yet is the fuel recirculation system, namely each engine pump more fuel than they actually burn, the excess fuel is recirculated to the onside tank, but I have no idea of the actual rates here, and that is relatively low, and crews do not rely on that to re balance.

Hi Jean Luc,
sorry, then I completely misinterpreted the Fuel Xfeed function.
But now I understand how it works. Thanks for the explanation.
